Journalists asked to promote hospitality industry
The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr Affail Monney, has implored journalists and media practitioners to give more attention to the tourism and hospitality industry for accelerated development.
He observed that the tourism and hospitality industry generated a lot of income and employment and efforts needed to be made to promote their activities.
Mr Monney was speaking at a dinner organised by the Airport View Hotel last weekend for journalists and media practitioners.
In attendance were journalists from both the print and electronic media.
Mr Monney applauded the hotel for bringing journalists together to acquaint themselves with its operations and to interact with the hotel’s management for proper networking.
In his welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of the hotel, Mr Francis Fori-Dwumoh, stated that the hotel’s management was delighted to invite journalists to its facility, noting that the hotel continued to innovate as its ‘elegance and excellence’ slogan had been at the forefront of its operations.
He announced the completion of the first phase of its final expansion work in addition to a general refurbishment which was currently underway, adding that under the second phase, it would develop a premier mixed facility that would comprise apartments, offices and a grand ballroom.
The Sales and Marketing Manager of the hotel, Mrs Jane Otu, assured guests of quality and top-class service.
She said the hotel had undergone significant transformation to be able to render better services to its clients.
