As part of its operations in the area, the foundation has also registered about 320 pupils of the Nyanyano Methodist Basic School with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Director

Speaking to the Daily Graphic after the presentation, the Director of the foundation, Madam Anne Grethe, said her outfit had been operating in the Volta Region and decided to extend its activities to Nyanyano in the Central Region.

According to her, the foundation solicited for funds from private individuals in Denmark to support schoolchildren in deprived communities by providing them with school uniforms, shoes and learning materials.

Madam Grethe said the foundation’s decision to register the school children with the NHIS was to enable them have access to basic health care.

Appreciation

The Chief of Gomoa Nyanyano, Nana Obeng Wiabo V, who received the items, thanked the foundation for their benevolence as it would go a long way to complement government support to the centre.

He urged the health workers to ensure that the items were used for the intended purpose.
