The King and his men wore the traditional attire, known as Emahiya, a cloth draped around the body and tied at the shoulder, often decorated with beads.

Members of the Eswatini delegation proudly displayed the distinctive traditional dress of the country and were toasted with a military guard of honour, traditional drumming, and a colourful display of the Ghanaian culture to set the tone for the state visit which would see him spend much of the time in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi to be hosted by the Asantehene.

Due to return on Saturday, the four-day state visit is to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Ghana and Eswatini, as well as deepen historical and cultural connections, particularly between the Asante Kingdom and Eswatini.

The visit marks the first time King Mswati III has visited Ghana and hosted by President Mahama since his return to the Presidency on January 7, 2025.
