KMA chief executive inspects projects in Kumasi

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr Kojo Bonsu, last Monday embarked on an inspection of infrastructure projects in the metropolis.

Among the projects Mr Bonsu visited were a six-unit classroom for the Weweso Metropolitan Assembly Junior High School (M/A JHS), the construction of a wall for the Bomso M/A JHS and gravelling of the Nsenie-Kentinkrono Road.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive undertook the exercise with the objective of acquainting himself with progress of work so that he would facilitate their early completion.  

Projects

At Weweso, construction work on the six-classroom project estimated at GH¢241,000 was almost completed.

The Meadmistress of the school, Ms Margaret Bertha Mmieh, commended the mayor for initiating the project. She said when the work was completed, it would end the shift system and make education more accessible and attractive to school-age children.

At Bomso, a 700 x 500 metre wall for the M/A JHS, which cost GH¢300,000, had also been completed.

According to the Headmistress, Mrs Joyce Boateng, the wall had been completed at the right time and  commended the KMA for meeting to the school’s need. 

She said before the construction of the wall, the school’s land was encroached on while some miscreants used it as their den for smoking and defecation.

She also urged the chief executive of the KMA to assist the school put up a new toilet facility since the one they had was in a deplorable state. 

At the time of Mr Bonsu’s visit to the Nsenie-Kentinkrono Road, work had reached it completion stage.
