Kumasi MCE orders closure of Dr Mensah Market
The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Kumasi, Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, yesterday ordered the immediate closure of Dr Mensah Market, a popular trading centre in Kumasi.
This was after traders in the area defied the directives not to sell their goods as part of the restrictions imposed on Greater Kumasi for 14 days as part of the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The recalcitrant traders defied warnings regarding the restrictions and the MCE had no alternative but to order the immediate closure of the trading arena and asked the traders to go home.
