Man kills wife, absconds

The Kasoa Police have mounted a search for a man suspected to have murdered his wife and absconded from their residence on the Kasoa Obuom road in the Central Region.

The deceased, who was identified as Comfort Kuma, is believed to be 40 years. The couple have three children and lived in a house owned by the deceased.

The suspect, Justice Adu, who is currently at large, is said to have allegedly called one of the tenants in the house about 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday to inform him that he had killed his wife.

It is further claimed that the suspect said he was hiding at Winneba where he had planned to take his own life. The tenant later reported the matter to the police.

Scene

When the police rushed to the scene, they found the victim dead with a deep cut on her forehead.

It is suspected that the killer had hit her with a heavy instrument.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Investigations

According to the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr Joseph Okloo Gyamera, preliminary investigations carried out by the police indicated that the suspect had been having confrontations with his wife for some time now.

He said the man was not happy that his, wife, who worked with a local eatery (“Chop bar”), stayed away from the house for longer periods, sometimes three days.

This led to suspicions by the husband who questioned his wife for her late arrivals when she returned home last Saturday from work.
