Mashallans condemn homosexuality

Members of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall have called on all Catholics and societal leaders to boldly speak against the evils in the country.

They have also condemned the creeping tendency and subtle promotion of practices of homosexuality, lesbianism, female genital mutilation, as well as the imperceptible emergence of same-sex marriage in the country.

In a communique issued at the end of the eighth Marshallan Re-Union conference in Kumasi, the Marshallans called on the government and all social agencies to work conscientiously to remove those practices and tendencies.

Jointly signed by the Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Victor Derx Baffour, and the Grand Lady, Most Respected Lady Sister Janet Edith Mmieh, the communique urged Ghanaians to commit themselves to peace as the country nurtured its young but enviable democracy.

It urged members of the Marshallan fraternity and Christians to show interest in national politics, as well as support those who had the moral turpitude to actively engage in politics.

The Marshallans also pledged to increase their social interventions in favour of the disadvantaged, especially children, women and persons with challenges.

They promised to ensure that the youth of the church had unfettered access to Christian education and were effectively guided in their Christian growth and future security.

The August 2 to August 4, 2013 Re-Union conference was held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, on the theme “Deepening the Faith of the Marshallan for Effective Evangelisation”.
