The appointment, which takes immediate effect, follows the resignation of the founder of the group, Shamima Muslim, from the Convenor role

Ms Muslim, who has been the Convenor of the advocacy group since its inception in 2017, has stepped down from the role in compliance with the non-partisan ethos of the Alliance, as she has transitioned into partisan political activism.

A statement issued by the Co-Chairperson of the Steering Committee, Professor Abena Yeboah Banin, said ‘Having been part of AWMA and given her experience in the advocacy roles and after broad consultations, the group found Ms Adjabeng as a worthy replacement for the role.’

The statement assures Ms Adjabeng of the fullest support and cooperation as she takes charge and leads this dynamic group to further greatness.
