Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources tours Ayawaso West
The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has toured the Ayawaso West Municipality to ascertain the level of hygiene in the area.
It was also to dialogue with market women on how the government could assist them with tools to ensure cleanliness and also to curb a cholera outbreak.
The visit which took place on Friday, May 4, 2020, forms part of efforts by the Ministry to ensure that Accra becomes the cleanest city in Africa as charged by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The minister also toured some water stations in the area and urged managers of the facilities to ensure they filtered the water properly before selling to the public.
Mrs Cecilia Dapaah was pleased with the clean state of the municipality and thanked the MCE of Ayawaso West, Mrs Sandra Owusu-Ahinkorah for the measures the municipality and residents had put in place to improve hygiene.
She also stated that she was delighted with how the people living within Ayawaso West have adhered to the various policies implemented to ensure that their communities were clean.
Addressing the team, the MCE of Ayawaso West, Hon. Sandra Owusu-Ahinkorah pledged to continue working together with members of her municipality to ensure they keep their surroundings in good sanitary conditions.
