Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts visits Nkyinkyim Museum to explore strategic collaboration
The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie on July 21, 2025, has paid a working visit to the Nkyinkyim Museum as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with private cultural institutions and boost tourism in Ghana.
During the visit, the Minister, accompanied by key stakeholders, met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Nkyinkyim Museum. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for strategic collaboration between the Ministry — along with its agencies — and the Museum, with the ultimate aim of enhancing tourist inflows and experiences both into and within the country.
Discussions centered on how the Museum’s unique cultural offerings could be integrated into Ghana’s broader tourism development agenda. Recognizing the critical role of religious tourism, heritage and creative arts in attracting local and international visitors, the parties agreed on the need for coordinated action to amplify Ghana’s cultural tourism potential.
To facilitate the process, a task team has been established comprising key representatives: the Honourable Minister, Dr. Collins Nunyonameh of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP), Mr. Essel Blankson of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB), Professor Cobby Mensah of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), Kwame Akoto Bamfo the founder and director of the Nkyinkyim Museum and Dr Mary Yeboah co-director of the Nkyinkyim Museum.
The newly formed task team is expected to design actionable plans to support site development, programming, and marketing initiatives that position the Nkyinkyim Museum as a pivotal attraction within Ghana’s tourism landscape.
