The Director-General of the MTTD, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Angwubutoge Awuni, received the items on behalf of the service at a short ceremony in Accra.

Presenting the items, the Regional and West African Marketing Manager of Multichoice Ghana, Nii Amah Dagadu, said the company saw the role of the police in society as key, which needed a lot of assistance and cooperation from corporate bodies to make it easy.

He said the company would continue to assist key institutions to ease their operations and activities, adding, “It forms part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards institutions and corporate bodies in the country.”

Caution

Mr Awuni indicated that the gesture would go a long way to improve the visibility activities and operations of the police.

He used the occasion to caution the public against persons or individuals who extorted money from drivers in the name of directing traffic.

According to him, it was illegal for any individual to act as a traffic warden without the permission of the police.
