Muslimah Mentorship Network urges students to prioritise education

The Muslimah Mentorship Network has urged students to prioritise education, remain punctual, and prepare for leadership roles as part of efforts to shape responsible future leaders.

The advice was given by the Assembly Member for Kwaotsuru, Ishawu Mohammed, during the network’s monthly mentorship session at the Kwaotsuru Madrasa in Accra last Saturday.

He said education was a vital tool for both personal growth and community development.

The session, which began with Quran recitations by students, brought together mentors including Mr Mohammed, Asiya Usman, Hassana Bambara, Abdul Manan Sirina, and Rakiya Saeed.

Ms Bambara introduced the network and its objectives, while Ms Usman led a session on women’s health focusing on menstruation and hygiene. She also demonstrated the correct use of sanitary pads with the help of a student volunteer. Sexual harassment was also discussed, with contributions from Ms Usman and some Islamic scholars.

The programme ended with a summary of lessons by Ms Bambara. It closed with a Duaa under the theme, “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Building Independence, Knowledge, and Purpose.”
