Addressing the gathering, the Chief Executive of the PPA, Mr Samuel Salas Mensah, noted that after a decade of public procurement reforms, the issue of transparency in public procurement seemed to have taken a central stage in the nation’s quest to instil discipline in the financial management system.
“With the current restructuring of the public procurement scheme underway, all hands must be on deck to ensure effective career progression for procurement officers within the public and local government”, he added.
He advised practitioners to desist from negative tendencies such as corruption, power struggle and selfishness that could derail their successes and hinder economic development.
