Nkonya Ahenkro chief shot dead

A 68-year old sub chief of Nkonya Ahenkro, Nanai Obi Adiee has reportedly been shot dead on his farm.

He was attacked on Monday morning.

According to Citifmonline.com, the former Assemblyman of the area, Mr Sylvester Akompi said there was a gunshot which was traced to the farm of the chief but “before they got there, they saw his lifeless body lying down.”

He said they quickly informed the Police about what had happened.

The Hohoe Divisional crime office, ASP Edward Tetteh Otumi confirmed the incident said they have already begun investigations.

Several people have been killed while others have lost their properties in a sixty-year-old protracted land dispute between the two feuding towns; Alavanyo and Nkonya.

Government has hinted that it will soon take over the disputed land to maintain peace.
