Oda SHS old students honour Cyber Security Authority boss

The Old Students Association of Old Senior High School (Nananom), has honoured the Director General of the Ghana Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Albert Antwi-Boasiako  for his outstanding contribution to the development of national and global cybersecurity.

The honour was conferred on Dr Antwi-Boasiako, himself an old student and a member of the 1997 Year Group, during the school’s 64th anniversary climaxed with a Speech and Prize-Giving Day at Oda last Saturday.

He was presented with a citation.

Presenting the citation, the acting President of the Odasco Past Students Association, Baffour Yaw Asare Anane said the honour was in recognition of Dr Antwi-Boasiako’s immense contributions to the infrastructural and academic development of the school. 

“Most significantly, also for the honours done to the school by your elevation to the highest office as the Director General of the Cyber Security Authority,” Mr Asare stated, with the gathering of old students, staff, other invited guests and students applauding at the event.

The citation also read: “Your pioneering work in cybersecurity and digital forensics has advanced Ghana's technological landscape and positioned our nation as a leader in West Africa.

“Your international recognition and service on prestigious global committees embody the excellence instilled in you at Oda Senior High School. 

“Your noble accomplishments have brought immense pride to your alma mater and will continue to inspire posterity.
“To a proud Nana, with admiration,” the citation stated. 

Great foundation

Dr Antwi-Boasiako expressed gratitude for the honour done him, stating that he was proud to belong to such a great group.

He further expressed appreciation for the support and words of encouragement  from friends and classmates, saying they had over the years built great relationship and network.

He said he was proud of his roots and the foundation laid in his academic life which had helped shaped his career path.

“Whatever I have become, it is to a very large extent, the training we received here. The discipline, the encouragement to pursue academic excellence and the determination to succeed helped greatly and I’m so proud of my roots and foundation,” he stated

Dr Antwi-Boasiako advised the current students not to give up but also make good use of the education and foundation they were receiving at the school ‘because, it does not matter where you come from, once you make good use of the opportunity and the training you are getting from education and remain disciplined, focused and determined, you can become whatever you aspire to be.”
