
Osayem Tetteh Odorkor Tuumeh was great chief — President
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described the late acting President and the Swapolor of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, Osayem Tetteh Odorkor Tuumeh I, as a great chief who served his people and his nation well.
He said the late chief also worked assiduously for his country as a former Member of Parliament and an astute economist.
President Akufo-Addo said this when the Paramount Queen of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, Nana Korlekuor Adjado III, who is also the acting President of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Council, led a delegation to inform the President about the death and final funeral rites of Osayem Tetteh Odorkor Tuumeh I.
Osayem Tetteh Odorkor Tuumeh I died on June 2, 2018 and will lie in state on August 16 and 17, 2018. The burial service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the palace.
President Akufo-Addo said the news of the demise of the chief was not a welcome one but that was what would happen to everyone at the appointed time by the Almighty God.
He expressed his condolences to the chiefs, family members and the people of Yilo Krobo.
President Akufo-Addo said it was welcome news that the Yilo Krobo Traditional Council had made Nana Korlekuor Adjado III, a woman, as its acting President.
This is the first time a woman is acting as President of the Traditional Council.

The spokesperson for the delegation, Mr G. G. B. Adjirackor, commended the President for the warm reception and presented assorted drinks in line with tradition to the President.
