The presentation of the items, which included storybooks and crayons, was aimed at inculcating the habit of reading in the children.

Mrs Amuah, who is an old pupil of the school, said children should be encouraged to read so that they could improve their command of the English language.

She stated that she was committed to effecting change in the lives of the little children by ensuring that they had adequate support to make schooling interesting.

She urged other individuals and institutions to “support basic school education to help build a strong foundation for children in Ghana.”

Mrs Amuah also presented some toiletries, soft drinks, rice and cooking oil to the school.

The Head Teacher of the school, Ms Vida Badza, who received the items on behalf of the school, thanked Mrs Amuah for her kind gesture and urged other individuals and organisations to support the school.
