Police arrest man at Nkurakan for concealing suspected Indian hemp in maize

The Ghana Police Service has arrested one Christopher Saigoe for unlawfully possessing substances suspected to be narcotic drugs at Nkurakan in the Eastern Region.

According to the police, the arrest, which took place on June 17, involved the interception of a Sprinter mini bus with registration number AS 1933-21, driven by the suspect.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered five sacks of maize concealing 78 oval-shaped, sellotaped balls containing plant material believed to be Indian hemp.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be put before court.
