He again revealed that the police were also conducting further investigations to arrest people who were involved in the stealing of the equipment.

According to Supt Duah, the equipment, which were supposed to be handed over to the RCC, were diverted and found their way in the hands of some individuals.

He said the equipment were retrieved through police investigations and with the help of informants, adding that they were brought into the region without the knowledge of the RCC.

Supt Duah indicated that the police were handing over the equipment to the RCC for use, while the police continued their investigation to locate the remaining three.

Regional Minister

Receiving the keys to the equipment, Mr Asomah-Cheremeh said there was no documentation covering the equipment at the RCC.

He thanked the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command and the informants who worked tirelessly to retrieve the machines.

“We are so glad because this equipment could have gotten missing. But for the timely intervention of the Ghana Police Service and the vigilance of some individuals, we wouldn’t have seen these equipment today,” he said.

Mr Asomah-Cheremeh said the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) recently wrote to enquire about the equipment.

He gave an assurance that the RCC would make good use of the equipment to help generate funds for the state and support contractors who were working on government projects in the region.

He called for increased vigilance by the police and the people in the region to save the machines from getting into the hands of individuals again.
