Prez Mahama receives 3 departing envoys
In his remarks, Archbishop Kalenga said there was the need for Africa to give priority to the education of children.
He added that it was only through education that the children could unearth their potential and contribute to the development of the country
The Apostolic Nuncio said many African countries had independence at the same time as other countries in parts of the world and so Africa did not have any excuse but to build its human resource to support the growth of the continent.
In his response, President Mahama commended the Apostolic Nuncio for his work in promoting health care, education and other social services in Ghana and added that he was sad to learn he was leaving the country and expressed the hope that he would be back on visits.
Mr Bhagat, who has finished a two-year duty tour of Ghana, said India would continue to partner Ghana in the areas of trade, investment and infrastructure development.
He said India had signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with Ghana in many areas and gave the assurance that India was willing to implement the projects envisaged under the agreement.
In his response, President Mahama said Ghana and India had historic ties and that the two countries had common values on democracy, respect for freedom and human rights.
He said Ghana was willing to increase its partnership with India for the benefit of their people.
Dr Olusanni said the organisation had enjoyed support from the government in addressing the issues of children and the vulnerable in the country.
She called for similar cooperation with her successor to advance the cause of children and the vulnerable in society.
The President commended Dr Olusanni for her immense contribution towards efforts at protecting the interests of children in the country.
In another development, the Nigerian High Commissioner in Accra, Mr Ademola Oluseyi Amafowokan, led a delegation of Nigerian business people in Ghana to hold discussions with the President.
