Primary 5 boy defiles girl, 14
A primary five pupil has appeared before the Accra Circuit Court for defiling a 14- year- old primary three girl.
He pleaded guilty to the charge of defiling a child under 16 but disputed that he was 18 as was stated by the prosecution.
According to him, he is 17 and not 18 as claimed by the prosecution.
“My birth certificate supports what I am saying,’’ he said.
The court, presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, ordered the accused to produce his birth certificate and remanded him into police custody.
The case was adjourned to June 16, 2016.
The facts as presented by the prosecution were that the victim and the accused person both reside at Adenta, a suburb of Accra.
According to the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, on June May 16, 2016, at about 8p.m., the victim was sent by her auntie.
“At the roadside, the victim met the accused person who lured her into a wooden structure and forcible had sexual intercourse with her and thereafter escorted her back home,’’ the prosecutor said.
The prosecutor said the victim informed her auntie’s husband about her ordeal, but the accused escaped when they attempted to apprehend him.
However, “on May 27, 2016, the accused was arrested by the police,’’ he said.
