Rotary Club of Accra-Labone partners Casa Tomato to donate to Tema SOS Village
Rotary Club of Accra-Labone has in partnership with Casa Tomato, a food delivery venture based in Accra, presented some assorted food items to the Tema SOS Village.
The items included bags of rice, soft drinks, oil, and sanitary towels.
The donation which the club has been presenting on every Christmas season to the village, formed part of its drive to share the joy of Christmas with the children at the Tema SOS Village.

Before the items were presented, some of the Rotarians led the children to sing some Christmas carols, including “Joy to the World” and “Hark the Herald.”
Presenting the item, the President of the Accra-Labone, Mr Kwaku Tweneboah Ofosu, described the gesture as an annual event the club had been doing for the SOS village, particularly the “House Britain” where the club had adopted a child, Awal Ibrahim.
“We are here to do our annual donation to Awal,” he said, adding the club would continue to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged ones in the society such as those at the Tema SOS Village.
Mr Tweneboah Ofosu explained that because of Awal, the club donates to the House Britain food items to the house twice in a year, during the birthdays of Awal and on every Christmas season.
Social Responsibility
For her part, the Chief Executive Officer of Casa Tomato, Ms Nazifa Mohammed Abdulai, said her company partnered the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone as a way of giving back to the society.
“We like giving back to the society,” she said, adding “SOS has always been after my heart because I love SOS.”

She said Casa Tomato had been donating to many needy facilities and people, including orphanage homes, pointing out that “We like doing social responsibility.”
Ms Nazifa Abdulai commended the leadership of the Tema SOS Village for how well they had maintained the village well, saying “it’s my first time in this village and I am so impressed.”
She added “you can see that they (the children) are orphans but they are not lacking anything; they are not living like orphans; they even live better than most kids living with their parents.”
She has, therefore, encouraged other orphanage homes across the country to adopt how the SOS Villages were ran, noting “how the SOS handle the children is totally different from the normal orphanages homes we have in Ghana where most times people make donations and the donations end up in the homes of certain individuals, but it’s not like that with SOS.”
