These holidays provide citizens the opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and commemorate significant events in the nation's history and culture.

The dates for Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-Ul-Adha, which are movable feasts, will be announced later in the year by the Office of the Chief Imam.

Commemorative Days

1. African Union Day – Sunday, May 25
2. Republic Day – Tuesday, July 1

It is important to note that while commemorative days are equally as important, they are not observed as public holidays.

The Ministry encourages all citizens to take note of these dates and plan accordingly. The holiday schedule reflects Ghana's cultural and historical diversity, offering moments to celebrate national achievements and honour the nation's heritage.
