The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works across parts of the Volta, Greater Accra, and Tema regions on Thursday, September 18, 2025. 

The exercise, which is intended to improve service delivery, will result in power outages in several communities.

In the Volta Region, the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) will carry out maintenance on the Asiekpe to Aflao transmission lines Nos. 1 and 2. The work will take place from 8am to 6pm and will affect Denu, Aflao, Ave Towns, Hedzranawo, Kedzi, Adina, Agavedzi, Keta, Afiadenyinba, Nakyikope, Abor, parts of Akatsi, Dzodze, and surrounding areas.

Communities in the Greater Accra Region will also experience outages from 9am to 5pm. Areas to be affected include Rhama Town, Dodowa Town, Ayikuma, Adombrobe, Agormeda, Kordiabe, Doryumu, and their environs.

In the Tema Region, maintenance will be carried out between 9am and 4pm, affecting Magna Terris, ICGC, Methodist Junction and surrounding areas.

The ECG has apologised to customers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the planned outages may cause, stressing that the works are necessary to enhance electricity supply reliability.
