
See the areas that will be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance on Tuesday, July 22, 2025
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will carry out planned maintenance works across five regions on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
The exercise, which forms part of efforts to improve service delivery, is expected to result in power outages in dozens of communities between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
In the Eastern Region, power supply will be interrupted between 8 am and 1 pm in Asesewa Township, Bukonor, Sekesua, Anyamoni, Dana, Akateng and nearby areas. ECG in a notice dated Friday, July 18, stated that it regrets any inconvenience caused to customers during the operation.
Residents in the Tema Region will also be affected between 9 am and 4 pm. Areas earmarked for outages include Mobole, Otsebreku, Okushibiri, Apollonia, Jerusalem, Kubekro, Katamanso, Promised Land, Elegant Homes, Data Centre, Tema International School, Don Bosco, Bethlehem, Sebrepor, Emefs Estates, Coastal Estates, Goshen, Gbetsile and surrounding communities. The company again assured that the works are essential to enhancing reliability and urged affected residents to bear with them.
The Greater Accra Region will experience one of the longest scheduled outages, from 9 am to 5 pm Areas to be affected include Agbogba, North Legon, DVLA Bohye, East Legon, American House, A&C Mall, Ghana Link, Legon Avenue, Ambassadorial Enclave, Mandela, SCC, Sunny Coast, Korkordjor, Kinshasha, Gbawe Gonse, Joma Agbozome, Shiabu, Gbegbeyise Beach Road and nearby locations.
In the Volta Region, Hodzo and its surrounding communities will be without power between 9 am and 5 pm. The ECG notice, issued on Sunday, July 20, explained that the works are necessary for ongoing improvements in the region.
Ashanti Region residents in parts of Kumasi and Offinso will also be affected from 9 am to 5 pm. Communities expected to experience the outages include Barekese Headworks, Kronum Cement, Heman, Amoaman, Netia, Asuofua, CONSAR Quarry, Adankwame, Adugama, Naachia Quarry, Barekese Town, Abira, Offinso, Namong, Kayera, Tutuase, Nsuotam, Kyerekrom, Boamang, Tetrem, Habitat, Ahenkro, Kwamang, Kodie, Akrofrom, Aduman, Aduamoah, Denase, Pampatia, KCG Company and surrounding areas.
The ECG has urged residents in the affected regions to take the necessary precautions by switching off sensitive electrical appliances and preparing for the temporary disruption in power supply. The utility provider stressed that the maintenance work is critical for boosting system efficiency and ensuring long-term stability.
