A suspect has been arrested by the police in the killing of two forest guards at Mpamso in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.
The suspect is said to be the one behind the killing of two ADRAS timber concession guards at Mpamso Forest near Nsuhia in the Dormaa Central Municipality .
The suspected killer, Bashiru Kinda, a 45-year-old motor mechanic is suspected to have murdered Sani Aliyu, 34, and Ibrahim Musa, 35.
The deceased were both security guards at the ADRAS timber concession.
The suspect is said to be part of illegal chainsaw operators who entered the forest and killed the guards.
Kinda was arrested by the police on Monday [Nov 3, 2025] at a hideout at Diabaa in the Dormaa area following Police intelligence.

A press statement signed by the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chief Inspector Thomas Akeela explained that after searching the suspect's room, one Automatic Bruni model 96 9mm pistol was found loaded with three rounds of 7.65mm ammunition. Four mobile phones, machetes, talismans, and other amulets were also found in his room.
The police said efforts were underway to identify and arrest other persons who were involved in the incident, which occurred on October 26, 2025.
On October 26, 2025, a 41-year-old Ibrahim Issah, who is a security guard at the ADRAS timber concession company, reported to the police that a group of people numbering about 200 and suspected to be illegal chainsaw operators had attacked them at the concession site with guns and machetes.
He said during the attack, the deceased were gunned down by their attackers.
The suspected illegal chainsaw operators also succeeded in burning a Toyota pickup with registration number GT 3079-17.
The police, upon receiving the information, proceeded to the timber concession and found the two dead bodies lying approximately 100 metres apart in a supine position.
The bodies were retrieved and taken to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
