Tamale Teaching Hospital CEO’s office reopened
The office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) has been reopened two days after it was forcibly locked up by a Tamale-based alleged New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, ‘Kandahar Boys.’
The about 40 irate youth stormed Dr Prosper Akambong’s office last Tuesday, ostensibly to forcibly take over the management of the hospital which they claimed was being mismanaged.

They allegedly demanded for the keys to the CEO’s office on their arrival which were handed over to them without any resistance. They subsequently locked up the office and took away the keys.
However, the keys have since been returned, two days after the incident.
Visit
When the Daily Graphic visited the administration block of the hospital, where the CEO’s office is located, work was going on.
Two plain-clothes female police officers were seen guarding the office. The action by the group largely affected work at the facility.
Reopening
The Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Mr Ahmed Fareed, said the group returned the keys to the chief security officer at the hospital last Thursday morning. Later, the police came to supervise the reopening of the office.
He said the CEO had since resumed work in his office. So far, there has not been any arrest.
