Some officials of the Tema branch of JMTC, led by its shipping manager, Mrs Adobea Asiama-Aboagye, handed over the equipment to the District Police Commander, Superintendent Ben Wonkyi.

Mrs Asiama-Aboagye explained that the presentation formed part of JMTC’s contribution towards assisting the Ghana Police Service to become more efficient in the discharge of its duties.

“Japan Motors is proud to continue with our tradition of strengthening support for our communities to promote harmonious co-existence and accelerated development,” she stated and added that “providing the Ghana Police Service with office equipment means that certain confidential information which could have been exposed at commercial centres would now be safeguarded for effective policing and Japan Motors takes pride in giving such support as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.”

Mrs Asiama-Aboagye announced a one-year warranty offer with a quarterly servicing of the equipment as part of the package.

She indicated that apart from photocopying, the machine could also be used for scanning and printing with USB drive.

Superintendent Wonkyi thanked Japan Motors for its kindness and promised to use the equipment for the intended purpose.

According to him, modern policing was a shared responsibility.

He, therefore, entreated the public to cooperate and support the police in the discharge of their duties.
