Togbe Sei II is chairman of Awazorli Union

The seven-member community of the Awazorli Union in the Volta Region has elected the Paramount Chief of Botoku Traditional Area, Togbega Sei II chairman of the union.

The union is committed to fostering peace, culture, unity, and resolving chieftaincy disputes among the communities, which include Ziavi, Botoku, Etordome, Mefe, Kpedze-Todze, Ando, and Kpando-Anyigbe.

Speaking in an interview soon after his election at Ziavi-Dzogbe, near Ho, on Tuesday (December 16) Togbega Sei, who will serve a four-year term, pledged to work with all stakeholders, including citizens of the union in the Diaspora to promote rapid development in the Awazorli communities.

He said youth employment would also rank high on his development agenda.

In that regard, Togbega Sei said, a new secretariat would be established for the union’s administrative duties.

He further pledged the union would collaborate with the government to undertake serious community farming, and plant teak trees extensively in the communities as part of its long term development goal.

Togbega Sei won 77 percent of the votes cast, while the other contestant, the Divisional Chief of Kpedze-Todze won 22.72 percent in the polls conducted by the Electoral Commission.
