Tradeline Consult supports poultry farmers
Tradeline Consult, an agribusiness solution organisation based in Ghana, has organised a four-day training workshop for some graduates with finance and business background to help build their capacity as business development officers (BDOs) in order to render proficient assistance to poultry farmers within their localities.
So far, the first batch of 20 officers drawn from the Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti, and Northern regions has been equipped with the required skills to enable them to assist farmers in order to make progress in their businesses.
They were trained in record keeping, accessing loans, development of business plans, records collection, record keeping, farm auditing, market research and marketing of products to consumers.

The initiative, dubbed: ‘Finance Factory’ (FIFACT), is one of the flagship programmes of Tradeline Consult, designed to ensure that micro, small and nedium enterprises (MSMEs) in different sectors have access to accounting and development services at their own convenience.
The programme is being partnered by the Ghana National Association of Poultry Farmers and Tertiary Institutions across the country with support from USDA-Ghana Poultry Project (GPP).
As part of the training, the team visited some farms within the metropolis to acquaint themselves with poultry production.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, the Finance Factory Manager with Tradeline Consult, Mr Forster Agbei Gomashie, said the initiative would soon be scaled up to other regions to engage over 500 graduates and help boost poultry production across the country.
Commendation
For his part, the Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Poultry Farmers, Mr Victor Oppong Adjei, hailed the move and assured the organisation of the continued support of the association to get all poultry farmers to access the finance factory services.
A Financial Specialist to the Ghana Poultry Project (GPP), Mr Malcolm Oppong, said a major challenge bedevilling poultry farmers, and for that matter traders, was lack of record keeping.
