Their pleas were not taken but they were remanded into police custody.

The court, presided over by Mr James Kojo Bota, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Kwesi Attifah, the third suspect in the case, who is now at large.

Chief Inspector Gregory Yeboah presenting the facts of the case said Abban, Offei alias Yaw Otibu and Attifah alias Okotor were residents of Oshiman Estate, a suburb of Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.

He said in January this year, Abban suspected one Frank Kwabena Owusu alias Taller of having an affair with his fiancée.

According to the prosecutor, Abban had lived with her for 12 years and they have a seven-year-old son, and were preparing to get married.

On March 29, 2016 at 6.50a.m, Abban, armed with a knife and in the company of Offei and Attifah on suspicion that Owusu was harbouring Abban’s fiancée in his room, went to confront and attack them but met their absence.

Shortly afterwards, Owusu, along with the deceased, a second year student of the Osei Tutu SHS, appeared on the scene.

Offei confronted Owusu and the two started to exchange words, which led to a fight.

The prosecutor said the deceased attempted to separate them but Abban attacked him instead. Amponsah bolted but fell down. Abban then stabbed him below the collar bone of his left shoulder close to the neck, killing him instantly.
