The incident, which happened at about 11 a.m., not far from a police post, which had been closed at the time, saw the manhood of the young men chopped off and mutilated before they were set ablaze with lorry tyres.

About 50 young men in the area pounced on the two when they were alleged to have broken into the home of a resident who had gone to church. “They were caught with a cylinder and an amplifier,”  an eye witness told the Daily Graphic.

According to him, thieves had been operating in the area for sometime now, and that they carried out their modus operandi on Sundays when residents had gone to church.

Luck, he said, however, eluded the two when they had gone to steal a cylinder and an amplifier. Some other eye-witnesses said the two were spare taxi drivers at Kasoa.
