UPSA delegation calls on GRA leadership ahead of 60th anniversary
A delegation from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as part of activities marking the university’s 60th anniversary.
The visit, which took place on Monday, February 16, 2026, was led by the Chairman of the UPSA 60th Anniversary Planning Committee and Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Mr Kwabena Agyekum.
The delegation was received by the Commissioner-General of the GRA, Mr Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, and Dr Martin Kolbil Yambrigya.

Mr Agyekum used the occasion to congratulate the GRA leadership on their recent appointments and commended the Authority’s work in revenue mobilisation and public service.
He underscored the increasing visibility and contribution of UPSA graduates across key national institutions, describing the anniversary as an opportunity to consolidate partnerships that would benefit both academia and public sector governance.
The Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee and President of the UPSA Global Alumni Association, Mr Francis Dadzie, outlined the purpose of the visit and formally invited the GRA to participate in the UPSA @60 celebrations. He announced that the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) will be relaunched on March 17, 2026. Also, a Public Annual Lecture and Business Conference will be held in May, The Asantehene, an alumnus of UPSA, is expected to attend the celebrations.
The planned relaunch of the Institute of Professional Studies is expected to signal a renewed focus on professional and executive education, while the public lecture and business conference in May are intended to provide a platform for thought leadership and industry engagement.
In his remarks, Dr Martin Kolbil Yambrigya praised UPSA for its strong leadership and culture of discipline, noting that the institution continues to distinguish itself in professional education. He expressed personal pride as an alumnus and pledged to mobilise fellow GRA alumni to support the anniversary activities. He also shared fond memories from his student days, reflecting on the university’s formative role in shaping his career.
The UPSA delegation included Prof. Fidelis Quansah, Director of IPS; Dr Mrs Leticia Akyeampong, Deputy Director, Administration; and Dr Mrs Juliana A. Andoh. The GRA team present comprised Ms Annette Kwoffie, Chief Revenue Officer for Communication and Public Affairs; Ms Felicia Afunyabae; and Mr Christopher K. Beyereh.
The engagement forms part of a broader outreach strategy by UPSA to strengthen institutional partnerships as it marks six decades of professional education and national service.
