Veep lauds Abraham Attah
The vice-president, Mr Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, has lauded the young Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah, for winning an award at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards in the USA, following his performance in the film, ‘Beast of No Nation’.

The 14-year-old student of the Cape Coast Montessori School who returned to Ghana yesterday after being adjudged ‘Best Male Lead’ in the movie, went to Flag Staff House, accompanied by his parents and manager, and were received by the Vice-President.
Commendation
This is the third major award for the young actor who won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the Venice Film Festival 2015. He also won ‘Rising Star Award’ at the Black Film Critics Circle.
Welcoming Master Attah to the Flagstaff House yesterday, the Vice-President congratulated him for the feat and said he was an ‘ambassador’ who had made Ghana proud.
Mr Amissah-Arthur urged the talented boy to stay in school and indicated that “the best way to conserve talent is to go to school to achieve the best results”.
The Vice-President further asked him not be get swollen-headed over his recognition on the world stage but rather see himself as a role model developing into a global star.
“I know other children will wish to be like you because you have become a role model. Take any criticisms that come as an opportunity to improve yourself,” Mr Amissah-Arthur advised.
Appreciation
Responding, Master Attah, who is in his first year in the junior high school, expressed appreciation to Ghanaians for the overwhelming messages of commendation he received after picking his award.

He received a trophy depicting a bird sitting over a pole with shoestrings wrapped around the pole.
He thanked his parents for their continued support and gave the assurance that he would make the country proud in his pursuit to succeed in the international movie industry.
Advising the youth to stay focused on their dreams, Master Attah said, “it does not matter where you come from because once you set out to achieve a particular goal, nothing can stop you”.
