We are not importing new JHS uniforms - GES
The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has denied media reports that it is importing new school uniforms for students in the Junior High School (JHS).
According to the GES, the story is baseless and has no merit whatsoever, adding that the new clothes are available on the open market.

"The GES wishes to state that it has not imported, neither, has it contracted any individual, locally or internationally to bring in new uniforms for the Junior High Schools," a statement signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the Head of the GES Public Relations Unit said.
"It will be recalled that in April this year, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service introduced a sample of the new uniform and its design to the media. The Director-General urhed parents to access these clothes from the open market as it has been with the current uniform".
The statement added that the old uniforms will be phased out over a period and noo student will be barred from schools when the 2020 academic year begins in September.
