Wienco supports flood victims

Wienco Ghana Limited has donated food items worth Gh¢60,000 and Gh¢10,000 cash to support the victims of the June 3, 2015 flood and fire disaster in Accra.

The items were 200 bags of rice and 100 bags of maize.


The company presented the items and the money to the 37 Military Hospital and the TV3 Network to be distributed to the victims.

Presentation of items


Presenting the items, the Commodity Trade Manager of Wienco Ghana, Ms Elorm Goh, said as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, they deemed it necessary to help the victims of the twin disaster.


She indicated that the donation was made in partnership with the rice producers from Veta in the Volta Region and the Massara Nasiki farmers.


“The disaster came as a shock to all of us and we deem it necessary to come to their aid,” she said.


Receiving the items, the Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital, Col Samuel Adjei, commended Wienco Ghana for the support.
“It will go a long way to help in the upkeep of the victims,” he stated.

State of victims


Col Adjei said out of the 45 victims that were admitted to the hospital, 21 had been discharged with the rest responding to treatment.
