It brought together over 120 participants from 32 communities and towns within the Breman Traditional Area.

Addressing the participants, the Omanhen of Breman Traditional Area, Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, bemoaned the level of unemployment in the area and advised the youth to identify potential business opportunities and start exploiting these opportunities to set them on the path to been economically self-sufficient.

Advice for the youth

The Omanhen, who also chaired the programme, said there were numerous resources in the area and urged the youth to endeavour to make the most of the resources available to them.

He invited other developmental partners such as the district assembly, NGOs and financial institutions to get on board to support youth-based and youth-focused activities, especially the entrepreneurial drives of the youth in the area.

A business advisory expert, Mr Chris Essilfie, and Mr Percy Amoo Yankey, a motivational speaker, preacher and business advisory expert of IBS Consulting Alliance, in separate remarks advised the youth to begin to work hard to break the cycle of overdependence on government for employment by nurturing entrepreneurial ideas and applying them to the many business opportunities available.

They tasked the youth to believe in themselves and invest in their minds to enable them to take up responsible roles in their respective communities.

Noble initiative

The Queenmother of Breman Nwomaso, Nana Yaa Yeboah III, who graced the occasion, advised the youth to take advantage of the educational opportunities to enable them to become better managers of their resources.

The District Director of the NYA in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District, Mr Edwin Amponsah, expressed his gratitude to Odeefuo Buadu for the initiative and pledged the readiness of the authority to partner the traditional council and other partners in development to promote the development of the youth in the area in particular and the country as a whole.
