Euroget sub-contracts TeQV for Afari Military Hospital project

Euroget De-Invest has sub-contracted TeQV at the Afari Military Hospital project site in the Ashanti Region to speed up the final stages of the construction process.

The new sub-contractor has since moved equipment and personnel to the site of the 500-bed facility for less than two per cent of work remaining.

TeQV will be mainly involved in mainly finishing works to bring finality to the project.

At a simple ceremony at the project site, the Resident Engineer, Abou Shamar, conducted officials, including the Country Director of Euroget De-Invest, Abraham Dwuma Odoom, and officers of the sub-contractor around the hospital.

The Afari Military Hospital is one of nine hospitals awarded to Euroget, an Egyptian investment company, for construction in the country.

The company has already delivered the Wa Regional Hospital in the Upper West Region, the Ga East Municipal Hospital at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region, the Ahafo Ano North Municipal Hospital at Tepa in the Ashanti Region, the Tain District Hospital in the Bono Region, and the Twifo - Atti-Morkwa District Hospital at Twifo Praso in the Central Region.

What will become Ghana's second military hospital is intended to complement the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as the chief referral medical facilities in the Ashanti Region and all of the middle sector.

Beyond that, the new hospital's specialist capacity will be accessed by patients from the neighbouring environments outside of the region.

The hospital will boast the capacity - in terms of equipment and clinics - to handle major medical conditions.

It will have 17 specialist clinics, pharmacy units, theatres, laboratories, kitchen, laundry, morgue, among others.

It also has medical waste, sewerage, and water treatment plants, a 54-flat staff accommodation, a gas-generating system, a parking lot for more than 700 cars, and a helipad.

It has a six-kilometre internal road network and 40-acre landscaping on the 260,000-metre square project area.
