Ever Fruitful Church holds blood donation exercise to mark silver jubilee

The Ever Fruitful Christian Centre at Dzorwulu in Accra has organised a blood donation exercise as part of activities marking its Silver Jubilee celebration.

The event, held on the church premises, was undertaken in collaboration with the National Blood Service (NBS) and formed part of the church’s commitment to lifesaving interventions.

The exercise was aimed at supporting the National Blood Bank to replenish its stock to meet emergency demands across health facilities in the country. Scores of church members turned up to donate.

Reverend Elton Dusi, the General Overseer of the Fruitful Church, said the initiative was an expression of the church’s core values of compassion, service and practical demonstration of Christ’s love.

He noted that the Silver Jubilee was not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to society.

Saving lives

“As a church, we believe that every act of kindness speaks to the very heart of the gospel. Donating blood is one of the most direct ways of saving lives and we are honoured to support this national cause,” he stated.

A team from the NBS, led by Kokui Adjorlolo, a blood donor recruiter, supervised the exercise.

He expressed appreciation to the church for what he described as a timely and commendable partnership.

Mr Adjorlolo emphasised the critical need for regular blood donations, explaining that one pint of blood can save up to three lives.

“Through this gesture, you have touched and impacted lives you may never meet. On behalf of the National Blood Service, we are deeply grateful,” he said.

25th anniversary

The donation drive formed part of a broader line-up of activities commemorating the church’s 25th anniversary.

Earlier in the day, members of the church embarked on a float through some principal streets of Dzorwulu to sensitise the public to the jubilee celebrations culminating in the church's annual Zion Conference, which will start from November 23 to November 30, 2025, at the church's premises at Dzorwulu.
