Ghana records 21 new Mpox cases to bring total to 467

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 21 new Mpox cases, pushing the country’s total infections to 467 as of August 28, 2025.

According to the Service, there are no new deaths or admissions, with the national death toll still at one.

The latest update follows the August 25 report, when 22 new cases were recorded, bringing the tally at the time to 446.

Health officials explained that Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person. Symptoms include fever, skin rashes, and swollen lymph nodes.

The GHS has urged the public to maintain good hygiene and to seek immediate medical attention if they develop warning signs such as fever, headaches, body pains, or rashes.
