Increase health insurance premium - HISPAG to govt

The Health Insurance Service Providers Association of Ghana (HIPAG) has called on government to increase the current premium of Gh₵30 and add one per cent of the petroleum revenue to save the NHIS from total collapse.

It said with the current debt of over Gh₵700 million and financing gap of Gh₵45 per person, if the suggestion was not adhered to, the scheme is doomed forever.

The Executive Director of the association, Mr Frank Richard Torblu, hinted Graphic Online on Thursday ahead of a press conference at the Ghana International Press Centre (GIPC) in Accra Monday evening.
