Mrs Akosua Newman, the Director of Operation at the First Lady’s office, who presented the items on behalf of Mrs Akufo-Addo, said the presentation formed part of the foundation’s agenda to boost the well-being of women and children in the country.
She said the First Lady was committed to ensuring that no woman or her baby died during or after delivery in the country.
She said so far, through the Rebecca Foundation, the First Lady had been able to support hospitals in various regions with the exception of the three northern regions and the Brong Ahafo Region, which, she said, would be done soon.
The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Mr Maxwell Quophy Blagodzi, who received the items on behalf of the people of the region, thanked the Rebecca Foundation for the kind gesture, saying it would go a long way to improve the health status of people in the region.
