He noted that in spite of the challenges, their neutrality in peace-keeping efforts had paid off greatly in helping to cool down tempers and maintained stability in the country.

Mr Afotey-Agbo was speaking  in Ho last Friday at the annual WASSA  Festival of the regiment.

“Our democratic journey has come a long way,  and even though we stand tall among the neighbouring countries in the West n sub-region, our democratic structures need to be constantly reinforced so that the institutions can better understand one another,  he stated..

The Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel  Wekite Abase Seidu, underscored the need for the regiment to uphold integrity and be vigilant in their day-to- day operations.

He also commended them for  their discipline which had helped maintained the peace and stability throughout the year.

While pledging his commitment to build a solid bridge between civilians and the military so that together  they would move ahead in prosperity, he expressed his gratitude to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for coming to their aid when rainstorms ripped off some roofs in the barracks.

He reiterated his resolve and determination to make the region one of the safest so that all peace-loving people would move together as one people in pursuit of their duties without any hindrance to enhance the socio-economic development of the country.
