Afutu citizens hail President Mahama's nomination

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Winneba, Neenyi Ayikwei said Mr Addo was a political activist in the Central Region who had remained faithful and resolute to the cause of the region in many capacities, sometimes outside mainstream political activities.

He indicated that Mr Addo had been a serious political activist whose strategies had helped in promoting the fortunes of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but he had remained quiet and had not clamoured for positions or favours either from the government or from the party until his current nomination.

Neenyi Ayikwei therefore appealed to people who were against the nomination to change their minds.

“We trust that when given the nod by the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Mr Addo would bring his enormous organisational abilities to bear on the activities of the Regional Coordinating Council and improve the lives of the people in the region.” -GNA
