IPP founder lauds quality of appointees
He expressed satisfaction at the nomination of Mr Akwasi Oppong-Fosu for the position of Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD).
He said to his knowledge, Mr Oppong-Fosu could be the best person to occupy that enviable position, because apart from his position as a former Head of Local Government Service (LGS), he was a District Secretary in both Adansi-North District now Obuasi Municipal and Ahafo-Ano District now Ahafo-Ano North District where he brought about significant improvement in those areas.
Mr Akpaloo said Mr Oppong-Fosu’s commitment to duty attracted the attention of former President Rawlings who elevated him to the position of a deputy minister for MLGRD.
He, however, advised the President to ensure the implementation of the street naming and house numbering exercise that was initiated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under former President Kufuor.
