Amissah-Arthur mobbed by party supporters in Bolga
Jubilant supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday poured out in their numbers onto the streets of the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga, to welcome Vice-President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

The convoy of the Vice-President came to a virtual halt as cheering party supporters virtually blocked the road leading to the residency of the regional minister where they were addressed.
Upper East tour
Mr Amissah-Arthur rounded up his campaign tour of Gonjaland in the Northern Region last Wednesday where he inaugurated the campaign task force for that region.
The Vice-Pesident began the Upper East tour on Thursday where he was expected to meet parliamentary candidates of the NDC in the region as well as launch the regional campaign task force.
He is also expected to visit some constituencies such as Bongo, Navrongo Central and Chiana-Paga, as well as pay courtesy calls on some traditional rulers in the region.
Addressing NDC supporters who thronged the residency, the Vice-President entreated them to reach out to undecided voters and sell the NDC’s message of hope and transformation to them.
He said President John Mahama had performed creditably to warrant another term in office and, therefore, charged party faithful to redouble their efforts to secure a resounding victory for the NDC.
Mr Amissah-Arthur, whose address was intermittently interrupted by the chanting of party slogans from the teeming supporters, asked the rank and file to be apostles of the government’s good works by convincing the larger Ghanaian electorate to accept the massive development taking place in the country.

The Vice-President formally introduced some of the NDC parliamentary candidates in the region to the supporters and called on them to vote to ensure that the party “wins all parliamentary seats in the region.”
Regional Minister
The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Albert Abongo, cautioned Ghanaians against voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He declared that “we will continue to chase the elephant into the bush where it belongs.”
