He highlighted the importance of the church's neutrality in the political process, urging leaders to avoid bias in their submissions.

At a press conference in Accra recently, Apostle Sagoe said it was important for the church to maintain its independence and resist being exploited as political pawns.

He emphasised the importance of staying committed to doing what was right and ensuring the election process was fair, honest and free from cheating or unfair influence.

“We must not allow politicians to manipulate us or use us for their own interests.

"Instead, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to justice, truth and righteousness, and ensure that the right things are done in our nation," he  stressed.

Apostle Sagoe noted that church leaders must avoid being used as tools of manipulation by politicians but be steadfast in ensuring that the right things were done.

The renowned apostolic and prophetic minister explained that it was the church’s role to promote peace, justice, and righteousness and that its leaders must speak out against any form of electoral malpractice.

He also encouraged church leaders to use their platforms to educate their congregations on the importance of peaceful and credible elections.

“We must not compromise our values and principles by taking sides or promoting partisan interests. Our focus should be on ensuring that the electoral process is free, fair, and transparent and that the will of the people, through divine will is reflected in the outcome.

“As such, it will be abominable for any religious leader, with selfish interest, to take bribes from politicians and decide not to speak against the ills. The judgement of God will surely come upon such a person,” he said.

Apostle Dr  Sagoe used the occasion to appeal to the government and the Electoral Commission to put all the necessary measures in place for free and fair elections to avoid electoral chaos that could lead to the loss of lives.

He also entreated Christians to exercise their electoral rights by going out to vote for their favourite candidates.

“This is your right and you have the power through God’s guidance to choose the leader you want to lead you.

“It’s an important exercise that should be of concern to every Christian in this country since the one who rules over you matters a lot,” he said.
