Bawumia: NDC panicking because they know they will lose election

Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in a state of panic, fearing defeat in the upcoming elections. 

Speaking to a crowd in Ho last night, Dr. Bawumia suggested that the NDC's anxious behaviour indicates their realisation that victory is slipping away.

During his address, Dr. Bawumia expressed surprise at the NDC’s sudden urgency to become the majority party in Parliament, especially with just six weeks remaining before the elections. 

"It's almost 9:30 pm, and Ho Central is buzzing. I can see why the NDC is panicking," he told the excited crowd. "They know that they are losing this election."

He criticised the NDC for focusing on gaining a majority in Parliament at this late stage, after having been in the minority for the past eight years. 

"Just think about it—we have six weeks to an election, and their only concern is that they want to be a majority for six weeks when they have been a minority for eight years," he said. "Why? What is the rush? It is because they know they have lost the election, and they want to taste the majority position for six weeks."

Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence that the NPP would emerge victorious, securing a strong majority in Parliament. 

He attributed this confidence to the party's achievements across constituencies. "We are the majority, and we will be the majority party on December 7," he declared. "NPP will win a decisive majority."

He further emphasised the NPP's commitment to staying focused on their work, which he believes has earned the party widespread support. 

"Why are we going to win a decisive majority? It is because of the work we have done. We are getting support across every constituency because of the work we have done," he concluded.
