Bolgatanga Assembly accounts to people
The Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly is providing potable water to 35 communities and 12 basic schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality through the drilling of boreholes and a Small Town Water System at Kalbeo.

Some of the communities are Kumranga, Atampuurum, Gambibgo Adornabisi, Tindonmolgo Sorebisi, Zaare Avombisi, Zaare Mbarkabisi, Ga-Anebisi, Zuribisi Abilka Doone, Pologo Zorbisi, Kunkua Munkin and Katanga Amogzebikabisi.
Others are: Dorongo Asane Kubolgo, Kohvingo, Moshie, Dalugu Naabisi, Nyariga Asaamabisi, Nyariga Akindone, Agbanzia, Zoone Central, Anangatanga, Sherigu Boglingo, Yipala Kolinsin and Akahweebisi.
The basic schools are Adabase, Afeghera, Nimolgo Yipaala, Rashadiya, Tahiriya, Anowaam SDA Primary, Sacred Heart, Yebongo Kukua Zorbisi and Dachio kindergarten and nursery schools.
Of the 47 boreholes, 26 have been completed and are functioning whilst the rest are at various stages of completion. Seven of them have been mechanised.
The Planning Officer of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, Mr Emmanuel Liedib, disclosed this during a town hall meeting held at Sumbrungu, a suburb of Bolgatanga, to inform stakeholders about the assembly’s activities during the year 2015.
He also said the assembly was constructing 10 toilets for the Atampuurum and Anglican Primary and Junior High schools and the Azimsi, Sherigu/Nyorkoko and Yikene Primary schools.
Revenue and expenditure
On revenue and expenditure, the planning officer said the assembly’s internally generated revenue from January to November 2015 was GH¢1,896,269.75.

On expenditure, he said the assembly purchased a pickup costing GH¢88,918.20, spent GH¢123,311.38 on sanitation; GH¢123,209.00 on security; GH¢50,061.30 on the maintenance of street lights and GH¢83,206.80 on electricity and water.
The assembly also spent GH¢109,222.04 on the wages of casual workers; GH¢80,000.00 on payment assembly members GH¢65,187.23 as commission to revenue collectors.
