Maintain peace at Christmas — UFP
The United Front Party (UFP) has asked Ghanaians to maintain the relative peace in the country.

It said with Christmas fast approaching, there was the need for everybody to work towards a peaceful country.
In a statement signed by the Chairman and Founder of the party, Dr Nana Agyenim Boateng, the party said peace was a priceless commodity which, when undermined, could cost lives.
The statement lauded the effort of the government and the security agencies for maintaining the peace that Ghanaians had enjoyed over the years.
The UFP also commended President John Dramani Mahama and the security agencies for the relative peace enjoyed by Ghanaians.
Voting
On voting, the UFP said election was in itself not an act that society frowned upon but in reality, if elections were not organised in a peaceful atmosphere, the right for one to exercise the franchise as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution would be undermined.
Aside from that, it said Ghanaians who had attained the legitimate age to vote would also be denied the space to elect a leader if the elections were not organised properly.
The UFP, in the statement, shared the belief that it was only when there was peace that all opposition parties would get the pride of place to contest a ruling party in elections.

The statement, therefore, said the beauty of democracy was for any political party that won an election to be magnanimous in victory, while parties that lost should be gracious in defeat.
